Swim Team Family Conduct
The Beavercreek YMCA swim team program is designed to accommodate wide ranges of physical talent among its participants. It also tries to cope with the various demands of balancing athletic competition, participation in practice, school, work and family values. The key to all of this is finding ways to have good old-fashioned fun. Sometimes, parents lose sight of our objectives and demonstrate their misplaced concerns in inappropriate ways intended to embarrass the coach or the team. Just as we expect the highest level of conduct from our swimmers, we expect their parents to behave appropriately and politely. Outrageous conduct by swimmers' parents will not be tolerated by the coaches.

Management of the Swim Team is vested in the Head Swimming Coach under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Beavercreek YMCA. The Head Coach and assistant coaches will be assisted by the BVCY Swim Team Parents Board, appointed by the head coach.
C. BVCY Swim Team Parents Board
The purpose of the Beavercreek Swim Team Parents Board is to assist the coached in promoting and developing the swim team. The Parents Board members are appointed by the head coach.
Basic Philosophy
The YMCA philosophy it that the opportunity to experience competitive swimming should be available to a large number of interested youth. The ultimate goal of the team is to develop the complete individual. We consider swimming to be a healthy activity which if properly conducted will be beneficial to the growing boy or girl. Team members are expected to accept their responsibility to family, church, school and team.
Our program will try to develop five areas:
ATTITUDE: Team members will earn respect by respecting all members of the team and the coaching staff. Always work to the best of their ability in both practice and meets, and have the desire to be a “winner” and a “worker”.
SPORTSMANSHIP: At all times, in both practice and at meets, each member will always conduct himself or herself as a gentleman or as a lady and be aware of losing, but never enjoy or practice it.
DEDICATION: Team members will be encouraged to attend all practices regularly and promptly. In athletics, as well as in life, most successful people have had to make certain sacrifices to achieve high goals.
RESPONSIBILITY: Team members will be on time for practice and meets, remember goggles, caps, & membership card. Turn In entry forms, and be ready to swim their events
